A collection of music from the live recording of the 1953 coronation, 70 years after Queen Elizabeth's reign. 24bit/192kHz remastering from the original master tape in 2022 Queen Elizabeth was crowned in February 1952, and her coronation took place on June 3, 1953, at Westminster Abbey in London. The coronation was "the first televised coronation" broadcast by the BBC. The performance featured 400 singers (all male) selected from the Royal Anglican Church Choir, an orchestra of British soloists and orchestra principals, and trumpeters from the Royal Military Academy, and was performed in the rich and unique British musical tradition that is canonical to the coronation. This live recording was released by EMI in the same year as a 3LP set, and was also released as a 2CD set in 1997 and 2002. This time, the music has been extracted from the original master tapes stored at Abbey Road Studios and remastered at 24bit/192kHz at Abbey Road Studios for release.The digitally streamed version will be Dolby Atmos specification, reproducing the three-dimensional space of Westminster Abbey as much as possible as spatial audio.
