Giorgio Benati, Fausto Caporari, Alessandro Perrin (organ) This is the second installment of a major project that will amount to more than 20 CDs. Supervised by organist Giorgio Benati, who was a student of Langley, the booklet commentary was also written by Benati. The recordings were made on instruments selected from various Italian churches to suit the style and requirements of the music, and in addition to Benati, Fausto Caporari and Alessandro Perrin will join him to explore Langley's vast legacy. Excellent Recording Captures Langley's Style Many of Langley's works offer the magnificent acoustics of the Catholic organ, and since Langley was also a master of the pedal, the organ's unique bass sound is full of charm. The good news is that there are many scenes where you can immerse yourself in the comfort of the organ's bass sound. There are also some introspective quiet music and pieces that make full use of a variety of registrations, which may seem quite difficult to record, but Federico Savio, who has a wealth of experience in organ recordings, serves as both producer and engineer here, creating a perfect sound. Booklet and Case The English booklet (32 pages) is informative and includes color photographs of the organ and performers. The commentary by Benati, the organ's supervisor and performer, is clean and easy to read. The case is made of standard size (24mm thick) plastic (polystyrene) and is multi-purpose, storing 5 pieces.
