Dr. Feelgood was one of the most important pub rock bands of the 1970s, sparking the outbreak of UK punk in 1977. Their first four albums, which had a major influence on the subsequent music scene, will be released on CD and analog LP in 2025! Their second album, "Malpractice/Malpractice," which is a 50-50 mix of originals and covers, but with more danceable R&B beats and a more polished songwriting style by Wilco Johnson, is also available! Pub rock emerged as a reaction to the progressive rock and glam of the early 1970s. Its back-to-basics sound, rooted in the rock 'n' roll and R&B of a few decades earlier, had an undeniable influence on the subsequent UK music scene. Dr. Feelgood was a powerful presence in the pub rock scene.To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of their debut album "Down by the Jetty," the first studio album by the four members from Essex, UK, which sparked the 1977 outbreak of UK punk (Sex Pistols, Damned, Clash, etc.), the first four albums are being released on 2025 Dr. Feelgood, one of the most important pub rock bands of the 1970s. Wilco Johnson's (g) pick-less cutting and Lee Brillow's (vo) wild vocals make for a straight-ahead rock 'n' roll that still has a fresh appeal and a sound that hasn't faded away. The band's second album "Malpractice" was released in 1975 on analog LP and later on CD in 1990 on Grand Records. Comprising half cover numbers (such as "Riot in Cell Block #9") and half original songs, it is a more danceable R&B beat-oriented album with Wilko Johnson's songwriting honed to a higher level.(1975 film) (From the manufacturer's information)
