A miraculous 2LP compilation of all singles from the 70's by the North Carolina soul/funk group Brief Encounter, famous for their mega-rare 1st album (1977) with a market price of over 200,000 yen! Brief Encounter is a nine-piece soul/funk group led by the four Bailey brothers from North Carolina.Known to soul and rare groove fans for their fantastic first album, released in 1977 and nicknamed the Holy Grail of Soul, which was forbidden to be reissued in 2010, this compilation includes all the singles they left on Seventy Seven/Sound Plus and Capitol in the 70s! This groundbreaking compilation also includes two songs released by the reunited group in 2010 and two songs that were previously unreleased until their 2018 release on UK's Athens Of The North label! Two songs from the 70's, "Human", an excellent medium song that sold for over 30,000 yen as a single on Sound Plus in 1977, and "Where Will I Go", a very sweet ballad that was included on a P Vine compilation LP in 1988 and became a hot topic in the low-rider side as well! Although AOTN later released the complete version of "Where Will I Go" (included in this album in its entirety), these two songs are included,The earlier P Vine compilation "Tokimeki no Sweet Soul (Original Title: Brief Encounter with Sweet Soul Music)," a compilation of their Seventy Seven/Sound Plus works, now sells for over 15,000 yen! This fact alone is a testament to the popularity of their works during this period. What a sinful compilation to have even included a single Capitol release! A must-listen and must-have for all soul fans!
