Pianist Hyunrok Choi, whose serene music is filled with acute ability, was the overwhelming winner of the 7th Sendai International Music Competition held in June 2019. This CD recording is the result of the matured environment after recitals in Tokyo and Sendai in September 2010 with the same program. The tone of "Pavane" is aesthetically pleasing, and "Gaspard" further expands the palette of cold colors. The "Preludes" are a picture scroll of intellectual and emotional synthesis. A young Korean pianist with a promising future has just begun. Choi Hyunrok is a Korean pianist who won the first prize in the piano section of the 7th Sendai International Music Competition. In 2019, he won the 7th Sendai International Music Competition and received many performance opportunities as an extra prize. He was recognized worldwide as a very sensitive, insightful, and interesting interpreter of Chopin's music. He was also a finalist at the Busoni International Piano Competition, 3rd prize winner at the Asia-Pacific International Chopin Piano Competition, and 6th prize winner at the Suzhou Golden Rooster Lake International Music Competition.With orchestras such as Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Kyushu Symphony Orchestra, Gangnam Symphony Orchestra, Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra, Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, KT Symphony Orchestra, Seoul National University String Ensemble, North Gyeongsang Provincial Symphony Orchestra, and Suzhou Symphony Orchestra He was also selected as a player for the Classical Von Acht, Reims Music Festival, Taegalryeon Beethoven Fest, and House Concert July Festival, as well as for the Myeongdong Cathedral Korean Young Pianists Series, with pianist Sonu Ye-gon as artistic director.The concert and recital halls have been held at Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space, Hamarikyu Asahi Hall, Hitachi Systems Hall Sendai, Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall/Recital Hall, Koyan Alamunuri Haydn Hall, Pyongchang Alpensia Music Tent, Songnam Art Center Concert Hall, TLI Art Center, Gae Myung Art Center, Seoul National University Concert Hall, Thurmer hall (Bochum, Germany), Salone degli Affreschi (Maiori, Italy), and the Seoul National University Concert Hall.
