The Kyushu Symphony Orchestra, which started its activities in 1953 and is based in Fukuoka, the hub city of exchanges in Asia, as a permanent orchestra in the Kyushu area, selected a piece for its 370th subscription concert held on September 22, 2018 at its home base, ACROS Fukuoka, to celebrate its 65th anniversary, which has never been performed in Kyushu before. Conducted by Kazuhiro Koizumi, who has been the Music Director of the orchestra since 2016, the Kyukyō Chorus and other selected chorus members, and eight soloists representing Japan, brought the sound of "A Thousand People" to the land of Kyushu. This is a truly monumental performance of a monumental work that shines brilliantly in the history of orchestral performance in Japan. FONTEC
