Norwegian black metal band named after the number of the plague, "Norwegian Black Metal" is a band that has once again raised the level of sound insanity with blast beats in almost every song! The band was formed in 1997, named after the year 1349 A.D. when the plague broke out in their home country of Norway. Ravn, the ringleader of the band, was originally a vocalist and drummer, but when Frost (SATYRICON), a very skilled drummer, joined the band, he started to concentrate on vocals. After signing with the prestigious Candlelight label, the band released its debut album "Liberation" (2003), followed by a string of albums. The band's position in the metal world was assured when they accompanied CELTIC FROST on their US tour and Ravn was a guest on CELTIC FROST's "Monotheist" (2006), which the band professed to be their biggest influence. The band has continued to tour the world, visiting Japan in 2012 and 2017, and has released a total of seven albums.The band is also known for its experimental sound that incorporates ambient/industrial elements, as evidenced by their fourth album, "Revelations of the Black Flame," released in 2009. Although the style of the album caused controversy, the band's subsequent works have presented a one-of-a-kind worldview while balancing it with speedy music. On their latest album, their first in five years, Frost's blast beats and technical playing explode in almost every song, and his evil vocals and sharp riffs carry through the entire album. It is a masterpiece filled with the misery and danger of the first period, and it is a masterpiece that makes you want to shout for joy after a long time.
