A collaboration album between Esperanza, a talented jazz bassist/singer, and Milton Nascimento, a living legend of Brazilian music! The album was produced by Esperanza, with guest appearances by Paul Simon, Diane Leveslien La Havas, Carolina Shorter, Shabaka Hutchings, Chin Bernardes and Maria Gadu. 2023 was largely recorded in Brazil and was recorded about 15 years ago. This dreamlike collaborative work is a musical expression of the friendship between Milton and Esperanza that began. The album features 16 songs in total, including five of Milton Nascimento's favorite songs, two original songs newly written by Esperanza, and charming covers of the Beatles' "A Day In The Life" and Michael Jackson's "Earth Song," all with a love for Brazilian music and its great songs. The album includes a total of 16 songs. Milton and Esperanza's iconic duets and exquisite musicianship bring listeners the theme of "the importance of the younger generation creating with their elders, learning from them, and building a new world"!
