Description:
A wonderful gift of music and narration performed by Sheku and her 6 brothers and sisters! Sheku Kanae-Mason is a cellist from England, aged 11-24, and his 7 brothers and sisters, aged 11-24, who performed at the Royal Wedding of Prince Henry & Meghan Markle in May 2018, creating a huge buzz around the world (it is said that nearly 3 billion people watched the performance through TV!) The Canay-Masons are seven brothers and sisters, ages 11-24, who collaborated with Academy Award-winning actress Olivia Colman and children's author Michael Morpurgo to create an album of music and narration. This work features a performance of French composer Saint-Saens' suite "The Carnival of the Animals," with a new script for "The Carnival of the Animals" written by Michael Morpurgo, author of the children's novel "War Horse," and narrated by Academy Award-winning actress Olivia Colman, who won an Oscar for her film "Her Majesty's Favorite Olivia Coleman will be working with Morpurgo himself. The recording was done at Abbey Road Studios in London, and features a humorous performance by the Canay-Masons, who portray various animals with musical motifs, accompanied by narration. The film also includes the narration of Morpurgo's heartwarming Christmas fairy tale, "Grampa Christmas," in which Morpurgo plays the role of Grampa, with the youngest Canay-Mason and Mariatu as his granddaughters. Morpurgo plays the role of Grampa, and the youngest Canay-Mason, Mariatu, plays his granddaughter. Also included are popular songs such as Tchaikovsky's "The Dance of the Sugar Sugar Beetle" from "The Nutcracker," Rimsky=Korsakov's "The Flight of the Bear Bee," Eric Whitaker's "The Sea Lion Lullaby," and Kanae-Mason's arrangement of Bob Marley's "Redemption Song," 40 years after its initial release. Masons' arrangement of Bob Marley's "Redemption Song," 40 years after its initial release, is also included. The artwork for the album was created by children's book illustrator Emma Chichester Clark. Birds soaring in the sky, friendly kangaroos, curious elephants, and, of course, the seven Canay-Masons children with their musical instruments. A colorful picture book world is depicted.
