It’s the story of a summer in which a sulky girl who says, “I hate myself,” meets a beautiful blonde girl named Marnie. This is it!… “I forgive you! I like you!” Oh my! Is Ghibli finally doing "yuri" too?! I rushed to the theater to confirm, but since it’s an adaptation of Joan G. Robinson’s children’s novel, it wasn’t “yuri” after all. So what is it, then?
