Granados' early piano works, "Spanish Dances" and "Spanish Fantasias," are a stunning blend of Spanish folk music and sophisticated melodies. Each piece is accompanied by a dedication suggesting cultural and personal connections, and each is uniquely colored. Many of the dances are based on the three-part form (A-B-A), but some have exceptional forms, such as No. 3 and No. 9, which incorporate variations and new episodes, showing the influence of piano music and salon music popular in 19th century Europe, and No. 4, "Bilanesca," which shows an interest in Renaissance music. In No. 4, "Villanesca," there is also a hint of interest in Renaissance music. The Spanish scenes depicted on the piano are naturally expressed in the guitar duo arrangement, and their appeal as musical paintings stands out. The performance is by the Aslejos Guitar Duo. Born in Pesaro, Della Chiara studied at the Conservatory in her hometown and at the Chigiana Conservatory in Siena, where she performed with the Orchestra Teatro Massimo di Palermo, the Marche Philharmonic Orchestra, etc. In 2024, Naxos released her first album of guitar works (8.579103), which was well received. Locat studied with Stefano Grondona and won prizes in several international competitions.He has performed with orchestras in Palma and Ferrara, and has appeared at festivals in Europe, Australia, and Mexico.
