Following the two “JOY” albums released in 1978— “JOY,” released in 1989—making this his third overall. However, coming 37 years after its predecessor, “JOY,” this release is truly the live album fans have been eagerly awaiting. As for the tracklist, Tatsuro Yamashita himself has carefully selected the very best of the best takes from over 600 performances across 13 nationwide tours held over an 18-year span, from 2008 to 2025. The three-disc set features a total of 38 tracks, making for a truly substantial collection. Disc 1 features “SPARKLE,” “DONUTSONG,” “Our Summer Dream,” “Saturday’s Lover,” “Corridor of the Wind” “Sayonara Natsu no Hi,” “THETHEMEFROMBIGWAVE,” and other essential live staples, as well as 16 tracks ranging from early masterpieces like “CIRCUSTOWN” to recent hits such as “SYNCOFSUMMER.” Disc 2 features “SILENTSCREAMER,” sandwiched between “WINDYLADY,” “PAPERDOLL,” and “BOMBER,” along with 10 tracks—including “Love’s Boogie-Woogie Train”—that represent the very essence of Tatsuro Yamashita’s live performances. Disc 3 features 10 tracks that truly showcase the essence of Tatsuro Yamashita’s live performances, including “Theme of the Future” and “Human-Powered Plane,” as well as relatively newer numbers like “Sōbō,” “We’ll Always Be Together,” and a wide-ranging selection of 12 tracks, from Tatsuro classics like “High-Pressure Girl,” “Child of Atom,” and “RIDEONTIME” to his latest song, “MOVEON.”
