A detailed and spectacular work by the talented Joel Goodman of the film music world! Danny McCaslin, Eric Harland and other superb members have gathered! Emmy Award-winning composer Joel Goodman has composed music for over 150 films and TV shows. Joel Goodman has invited a superb lineup of musicians active in the contemporary jazz scene to create a work that is both precise and emotional, featuring solos as well! The project started in May 2021. Joel started sketching out the sketches for the album, and at first he played what came to mind, not with any particular work in mind, but the progression from there was rapid. When it was decided to have his old friend Joe Mardin as co-producer, he wrote all the songs within a few days. After that, he selected the right members of the band, drawing on their numerous experiences as well. In addition to inviting Danny McCaslin and Eric Harland for all the songs, Randy Brecker and Adam Rogers, and Scott Corey and John Patitucci on bass, the band recorded the album in September at the NY Power Station. The recording is notable for its dramatic compositions, as well as the "free space given to the members" and the highly improvisational nature of the recording, which was done "without rehearsal".No special instructions were added to Eric Harland's score to create a free groove, and the front improvised parts were large and edgy and emotional. The use of Brian Younger as the opener is also nothing short of brilliant. This is a contemporary jazz masterpiece by an artist who has created music with a rich story to go along with the images.
