Up-and-coming trumpeter Matilda Lloyd, whose debut album received 5 stars from BBC Music Magazine. For this album, she and organist Richard Gowers, with whom she has collaborated for more than a decade, present a diverse program of works related to "Fantasia". In addition to arrangements of baroque works, the album includes four works by British composers commissioned for this album (world premiere recording). She uses a variety of instrument types and rich acoustic combinations with the organ of Waltham Abbey Church to explore a world of sound that captures the listener's imagination and presents new possibilities for combinations with trumpet and organ. Lloyd studied at Cambridge University and the Royal Academy of Music, where he studied with Håkan Hardenberger.With an illustrious career that includes winning the BBC Young Musicians Brass Competition, BBC Proms debut, and international competitions, the 2024/25 season saw her named a Rising Star by the European Concert Hall Organization (ECHO), and she performed 18 recitals in prestigious halls such as the Vienna Musikverein, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, and the Philarmonie de Paris, He gave 18 recitals in prestigious halls such as the Musikverein in Vienna, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, and the Philarmonie de Paris.
