Bertini, who has a strong image as a Mahler conductor, was also good at Berlioz. His first meeting with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra was the Symphonie fantastique, and there were recordings of the same work with the Deutsche Bundesanstalt Youth Orchestra and the Cologne Radio Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Requiem (Cologne Radio Symphony Orchestra) and "Faust's Eternal Punishment" (Israel Philharmonic Orchestra). Romeo and Juliet" is the first work in Bertini's repertoire to include vocal music, including chorus in the opening and middle sections and the finale, but most of the work is performed by orchestra alone, and Berlioz called it a "symphony. Bertini masterfully leads the orchestra from the lyrical and romantic depictions of scenes to the dramatically uplifting passages, and the bright Latin sound, delicate colors, and sensual nuances that he brings out of the orchestra are the essence of his work. The soloists are top-class singers, and the prestigious Bavarian Radio Chorus also provides a strong vocal lineup. Naxos Japan
