Sandrine Piau, a diva, sings Schubert's songs in unison with a string quartet. Sandrine Piau, who has always been fascinated not only by Schubert's songs but also by his string quartets, has created an album of Schubert's songs with a string quartet, which has been her dream for a long time. Here, the string quartet is not only an accompaniment, but also a quintet with voices, and the result is a sound of voices and strings united to create an indescribable beauty. The Psophos Quartet was formed in 1997 and has won numerous international awards, including first prize at the International String Quartet Competition of Bordeaux in 2001. The quartet has received high acclaim mainly for its modern and contemporary works, but has expanded its activities to include Haydn's Op. 54 (ENP009), published in 2022, which incorporates period technique and bowing and has received high acclaim worldwide, including from the French Diapason magazine. In recent years, he has been actively collaborating with various artists, as in this collaboration with Piau.The "Death and the Maiden" and the "Quartet Interlude" are also performed here with rich emotion, natural undulations, and a very pleasant, extended tone.
