The Philharmonic Brass, a brass ensemble composed of star players from two of the world's greatest orchestras, the Berlin Philharmonic and the Vienna Philharmonic, was unveiled at the Musikverein in Vienna in April 2023, with Tugan Sohiyev on the baton. Their debut album "Overture! This time, the second volume of the album appears on the new label SUPREME CLASSICS. The album features Italian-themed operatic masterpieces by Verdi, Rossini, and others, as well as orchestral works by Respighi, and is conducted by Riccardo Muti, making it an extraordinarily sumptuous album. The separate orchestras (banda) on stage and backstage in Italian opera have played a part in fostering the development of brass bands in various regions throughout the history of opera's acceptance in Europe, and are closely related to brass ensembles such as the one featured in this concert.The members of different orchestras, backgrounds, and instruments (horns are half French, half wiener, etc.) play these works powerfully and beautifully, and the harmonious harmonies and light piccolo trumpet sound make you forget that there are only brass and percussion instruments.
