English composer Rebecca Clarke was also an excellent viola player. Perhaps because it was a time when female composers were not recognized, she faced many hardships, such as using a male name when entering composition competitions. Nevertheless, her talent blossomed around 1920, and she produced a succession of excellent works, including the "Viola Sonata" included in the album. Here, two violin sonatas written in her early years (1907-09) are presented together, allowing us to experience the music of a young woman who showed exceptional talent from a young age.
