It is called "CINEMA RARITIES". It has been three years since the world lost its maestro, and for the many fans who have yet to recover from the loss, this album appeared from Italy like a comet. Following "CINEMA SUITES," Morricone's last self-cover album, which was dedicated to violinist Marco Serino, this album is a kind of a return gift, with Serino performing his favorite Morricone works, this time dedicated to Morricone. Most of the songs are carefully reproduced from Morricone's own arrangements. Serino himself arranged a few songs, such as "Like Vivaldi (Lair in the Alps)" from "Ruthless Target," which Morricone would not have covered before his death. It is as if the maestro has reappeared before our eyes and winked at us, giving birth to this lovely album.The "Cinema Suite" for violin and orchestra (NYCX-10268/ A495), released in January 2022, continues to be a long seller as a reworking of the master of film music Ennio Morricone's last composition of his own. A495). The sequel to the Morricone album by Marco Serino, the violinist who was the soloist there and has performed with the maestro for many years, is now available. This time, as the title "Cinema Rarities" suggests, it is a collection of unusual pieces that do not cover the previous album, with the exception of a few pieces such as "Deborah's Theme" and "Under the Old Stairs". Although many of the pieces have never been released in Japan, they are all filled with Morricone's typical beauty, and the more you listen to them, the more you will be reminded of the depth of the master's talent. In addition to Morricone's own arrangements, several arrangements by Serino in his own style are also included. The "Mauro Boronini Suite" is performed for the first time on this album, and the other arrangements, except for the "Silvano Agosti Suite," which is the same as the original soundtrack recording, are recorded for the first time on this album.
