Lifshitz's long-awaited complete Toccata is a collaboration with contemporary British composer Seaborn! Lifshitz was born in Kharkiv, the second largest city in Ukraine. Bach has been an important part of his repertoire since the beginning, and his recording of the Golberg Variations in 1994 caused a great sensation. Lifshitz, who has previously recorded the Technique of Fugue, Musical Tributes, and the complete piano concertos for Orfeo, combines Bach's Toccata, which will be performed in Tokyo in May 2022, with a work by the English composer Peter Seaborn. Lifschitz's program is intended to convey both the allure of technical virtuosity and the power of deep emotional appeal in piano playing through a variety of textures and tempos, and one piece, C.P.E. Bach's Fantasia, is in Lifschitz's own element, with bold and dynamic changes of mood. Lifschitz is at his best in C.P.E. Bach's Fantasia, with its bold and dynamic changes of musical ideas.
