Description:

Composer Krengel was born in Dresden. He studied under Clementi and traveled extensively, performing in Petersburg, London, Paris, and Italy, earning a high reputation as a pianist. Although the best known of his works are the 48 Canons and Fugues, the piano and chamber pieces on this album share a lyrical atmosphere with works by composers active at the same time: Mendelssohn, Chopin, and Field. The Trio Krengel, of which Japanese violinist Keiko Yamaguchi is a member, performs on this album. Naxos Japan
