Throughout its long history, Shochiku has depicted stories of human kindness and family, including the "Otoko wa Tsuraiyo" series. The year is 2023. In this ever-changing age of 2023, the film "Hello, Mother" was completed, depicting a parent and child that will never change. The film is directed by Yoji Yamada, who at the age of 91 has continued to portray the family over time, and this is his 90th film as a director. The lead role is played by Sayuri Yoshinaga, who has appeared in numerous Yoji Yamada films over the past 50 years and has continued to lead the Japanese film industry together. Her son Akio is played by Yo Oizumi, who has become a nationally popular actor. The music for this film is by Akira Senju, who makes his directorial debut with Yoji Yamada. The music is a pleasant and comfortable accompaniment to the film, which emotionally depicts a life-size father and son living in 2025, while retaining the atmosphere of the downtown area where the Sumida River flows through. The guest player is Mariko Senju, sister of Akira Senju, who adds vivid colors to the work with the gorgeous sound of her Stradivarius "Duranti" violin. This is a must-hear soundtrack.
