Founded in 2013 by Yoshinori Nishiwaki with the aim of creating a new sound from Japan based on the "power of space" without being bound by the conventional wisdom of orchestras. The name "Der Ring" is an allusion to Der Ring des Nibelungen, Wagner's masterpiece "Der Ring des Nibelungen", which swept the world with its progressive, originality, and pioneering spirit, and also represents the basic philosophy of this orchestra, which is also connected to "ring" and "harmony". The orchestra's attempts to have all the musicians play forward, quartet arrangements, and standing performances are cutting-edge, but they also represent a return to the origins of the orchestra. The orchestra belongs to the fine NF label, known for its high-quality recordings and high-quality disc production. The orchestra is composed of young professional musicians who graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Toho College of Music, Tokyo College of Music, Musashino University of Music, Kunitachi College of Music, Senzoku College of Music, etc. Its debut concert was held on August 31, 2018, and its sound, which was shown in a public concert in "This Year" (retrospective) in the Mainichi Newspaper in the same year, was a phenomenal revolution in softness, color, and musical richness The sound shown in the public concert was described as "an astonishing revolution in softness, color, and musical richness.(2/2) Universal Music/IMS
