In 1979, Barshai + Yomiuri Symphony Orchestra gave many concerts together for the first time, among which I introduce Bruckner and Gluck. What was surprising was the smart response of the Yomiuri Symphony, very skillful! Barshai's detailed and noisy instructions reached every corner. Listening to these extremely demanding performances, it is no wonder that Barshai did not have a permanent position with any orchestra in the world for a long time and mainly worked as a guest conductor. Barshai did not seem to take up Bruckner as much as Mahler, which is also valuable. The performance is as fast as expected and not "romantic" at all. Tobu Land System
