A collection of pieces from Francescatti's most mature period, featuring the charms of his lush violin. This is a collection of original pieces recorded in Winterthur, Switzerland in 1966, at the peak of Francescatti's career. The same duo recorded Mozart's Violin Concertos Nos. 2 and 4 two years later, but this was their last recording for CBS. The four violin masterpieces by Italian composers, including Vitali's "Chaconne" and Paganini and Tartini's Variations, were arranged by Francescatti himself.
