French romantic pianist and Chopin's champion, Luisada, will be presenting a new recording of the complete "Ballades" to commemorate the Chopin Year, the third in the "Chopin Series" in which Luisada, now in his 50s, has returned to Chopin's works after a long absence, and has been performing and recording them intensively since 2007. This is the first time Luisada has performed the complete "Ballades," which, along with the four scherzos, are Chopin's most popular pieces and a true test of a Chopin player's ability as a virtuoso, and the fact that Luisada has chosen to perform them is already an event in itself. The fact that Luisada is going to perform these pieces is already an incident in itself. For Luisada, the ballads are like a road movie," he says, "but they are as deep and special to him as Beethoven's late sonatas.
