A release commemorating the 200th anniversary of Chopin's birthA new world of Chopin arrived at after the conquest of Beethoven's 32 sonatas. This is the long-awaited all-Chopin album recorded by Ikuyo Nakamichi for the first time in 16 years, after her "Beethoven: Complete Piano Sonatas" from 2003 to 2006. Nakamichi has taken up the subject repeatedly since the beginning of her career, recording the equivalent of seven solo albums, including two piano concertos. In the last few years, Nakamichi's image as a "Chopin player" has been strongly promoted through her appearances in NHK documentaries "Mystery of Chopin, the Piano Poet" and "Famous Music Detective Amadeus," as well as her nationwide lecture-concert series "Ikuyo Nakamichi: Chopin Keyboard Mystery. This time, in addition to six etudes (including the two most famous pieces, "Revolution" and "Farewell") and one mazurka, which Nakamichi has dared to avoid recording, the program is centered on the "Fantasy Polonaise," which he has recently been fascinated by and regards as Chopin's masterpiece. Including the re-recording of Ballades Nos. 1 and 3 for the first time in 20 years, the program explores Chopin's life and Polish culture, and marks the fulfillment of Nakamichi's efforts to reinterpret his works from multiple perspectives other than music. ［Comment courtesy of Sony Music
