A mixture of bravos and boos! The original master tape of Mahler No. 5 in stereo by the brilliant Scherchen, which was once released in Harmonie Mundi, France and has become the talk of the town among the fans, is now available on CD! After the performance, there was a great commotion as the audience exchanged bravos and boos with each other. In this performance, Scherchen's genius decision boldly cut the low roaring elements in the last movement and the third movement. The final movement, for example, was a fireball of an orchestra, and the performance turned into an assault on the audience, which was very exciting. It is a magical performance by Scherchen that lures the listener into a great catharsis and convinces him without any sense of discomfort. This is a famous live performance that is worth listening to at least once, even if you are not a Mahler fan. The sound is spacious and has perfect resolution, and the stereo quality is superb, with the clarity that is typical of Radio France recordings. The sound quality has been improved to such a level that even those who own the Harmonie Mundi disc will not be disappointed.Happily, the technique of fugue (also excellent) and the works of Messiaen's pupil Baryh are first published!
