A collection of Elton John's early studio and live recordings from his BBC appearances from 1968 to 1970, before his first hit "My Song is Your Song" was released. Elton John made his debut in 1968 and had his first hit with "My Song is Your Song", which was released as a single in October 1970 and has been covered by many artists to this day and has become a standard. The first seven songs on this album were recorded in 1970. The first seven songs were recorded on May 22, 1970, at the BBC Elstree Center in Borehamwood for public recording and television broadcast. Dee Murray (b) and Nigel Olson (ds, both ex-Spencer Davies Group) were already on the recording at this time, and it seems to be a very early prototype performance of the Elton John Band. The chorus features some of the leading British divas of the period, Madeline Bell, Leslie Duncan, and Kay Garner.A string section was also added, and Paul Buckmaster was in charge of the arrangements, creating a piano-based sound similar to that of his second album, "My Song is Your Song (Elton John)" (1970). The second half is a collection of recordings from various periods, from his debut year in 1968 to after the release of his second album, with a rock singer-songwriter with band performance, similar to that of his first album "Empty Sky (A Portrait of Elton John)" (1969), The atmosphere is quite different from the first half. The performance of Elton with Bernie Taupin, who wrote the lyrics, is fresh and already has an atmosphere of a man who has just started his career. The sound quality is also perfect.
