Amory Kane

Description:

Produced by Tony Cox, Amory Kane's second album, a masterpiece of progressive folk rock, is finally available on CD (originally released in 1970). Amory Kane" is an alias, and his real name is Jack Daniel Kane. Born in the U.S., his stage name is a play on the word "American," and he moved to England in 1967 to join the London folk club scene, making his debut with the album "Memories of a Time Unwound" (MCA/68). In 1970, two years after the first album, he released his second album, "Memories of Time Unwound" (CBS). The album was produced by Tony Cox, who is well known to UK rock fans for his work with Trees and Caravan. The combination of Cox and Mike Fitzhenry (engineer) is the same as that of Trees' first album, "Garden of Jane Delauney" (CBS/70), for example. The B-side contains six songs with orthodox production for the time, including a cover of "Get Together," and is an extension of the previous album, which was more of an average pop-rock album, but the best part is the A-side, which is more experimental in style (four songs are composed as a suite by Ron Gysin (a contemporary music composer and arranger known for his collaborations with Pink Floyd and Bridget St. John)) and is composed with sound effects. The A-side is a more experimental style (but no less esoteric), with the four songs being joined together by sound effects by Ron Gysin (a contemporary composer and arranger known for his collaborations with Pink Floyd and Bridget St. John) to form a single suite of songs, making this album a masterpiece of progressive folk music that emerged in the early 1970s. This album is placed in the group of progressive folk masterpieces (Roy Harper, Sean Phillips, etc.) that emerged in the early 70's.
