Be Your Own Pet, a garage/punk band formed at a high school in Nashville, has reunited after a 15-year hiatus. They have released their third album, Mummy, on Third Man Records. In 2023, BeYourOwnPet not only returned with a new album but also evolved into a band more powerful than ever. The album Mommy further amplifies the band’s signature garage-punk intensity with mature songwriting, electrifying performances, and a passion to carve out their own place and forge a path toward the future. Since their debut, the band has grown significantly—both personally and musically—and, having weathered turbulent times, has forged a newfound, refined confidence. In the studio, the four members fully unleashed their newfound freedom and strength within the style they’ve cultivated over the years. Thus, they’ve once again stepped into the raw and intense world of BeYourOwnPet, and they’re ready to run wild once more—this time, on their own terms.
