The first authorized release of this remarkable recording! Duo Recital by Meinardi and ZecchiMeinardi (1897-1976), born in Milan, and Zecchi (1903-1984), born in Rome, both from Italy, are still very popular among collectors. The recital given by these two musicians at the Salzburg Festival in 1959 is being reissued for the first time in its entirety from the original recording. Meinardi has separate recordings of all the programs included here, but this is his second Beethoven sonata cycle, having completed the complete Beethoven sonata cycle with Zecchi in session recordings between 1955 and 1957 (No. 4 was recorded in 1957).Brahms also recorded a monaural session with Zecchi around 1952, and Schubert recorded a monaural session with Guido Alberto Borciani in 1950, also in monaural. Meinardi wrote, "My creed and goal is to serve the music, not to use it to show myself." Meinardi wrote. At the time of the performance, Meinardi was 62 years old. The content of this performance by a master musician who had reached the age of maturity is a series of moments in which the weight of his words is clearly realized, and everyone is sure to be moved by the earnestness of his music.
