Schubert by two French virtuosos: a neat and noble worldSchubert by the French cello virtuoso François Salk and the virtuoso Claire-Marie Le Gué. François Salk is the unanimous winner of the Prix de Lausanne, the second prize winner of the Geneva International Competition, and the winner of various prizes at the Munich International Competition and the Tchaikovsky Competition. A graduate of Yale University, she also studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, where she was praised by Boulez as possessing "incomparable charisma and virtuosity. He has given concerts in 70 countries and made numerous recordings. He has premiered new compositions, collaborated with jazz artists, and is a French virtuoso whose activities know no bounds. The Arpeggione Sonata was written for Schuster, a famous Viennese guitarist and arpeggione player.Schubert wrote this music to bring out the virtuosity of his virtuoso player and the charm of his instrument to the fullest. The third movement is in a rondo form and requires staccato, pizzicato, leaps, etc., and is frequently performed on the cello. Here, Schubert's world of elegance and nobility is presented with the wonderful accompaniment of the beautiful French pianist Claire-Marie Le Guet, who is active worldwide and has many admirers in Japan. In the arrangements for cello and piano of the other songs on the CD, the profound poetry of "The Wanderer," which is also the title of the CD, is overwhelmingly expressed.
