The Perfect Technique Dimitro Choni A journey through time and space Dmytro Choni was born in 1993 in Ukraina Kieu and first caught the world's attention when he won the bronze prize at the 16th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2022. He is a remarkable pianist with impeccable pianism, amazing technique, and clear musical intention, and is steadily deepening his musical activities, including a world tour in 2023 with violinist F.P. Zimmermann and a recording in progress. His latest release, entitled "pilgrimage," depicts a journey through time and space. The first work by fellow countryman Silvestrov is a gentle bagatelle. In Liszt's work, Choni himself is transformed into a Mephistopheles, drawing the listener into a terrifying darkness. Debussy's piece takes us to the Orient and ancient Greece. In Lieberman's "Gargoyle" (a kind of stone statue in a cathedral), we meet a percussive, stern-looking stone statue of the devil, among others. Finally, we return to Silvestrov's serene work to conclude a journey full of changes.With a truly lively and piercing fingertip to the core, Choni is a magician on a journey through time and space and across heaven and earth.
