The sound is remarkably fresh, and you can feel that the duo has been having fascinating sessions every time they perform together. K459 was completed in December 1784, the same year Mozart moved to Vienna to secure his reputation as a pianist. The orchestra is filled with an exciting atmosphere reminiscent of an operatic overture, and Bezuindenhout's lively solo, which begins as if to join it, is superb. The entire piece is full of fluidity and joyful atmosphere.K488 is an unusually slow tempo movement (adagio) for a keyboard concerto, with a Siciliano-style second movement. Bezeidenhout's solo is a wistful but beautifully flowing song, and the ensuing orchestral music is so romantic that it will make your tear glands collapse. In the final movement, Allegro assai, Bezeidenhout plays with a natural beauty. (King International)
