Leszar Florissant sings beautifully with grandeur and exquisite softness! Vivaldi's imaginary "Mass" Vivaldi was a licensed priest, known as the "Red-Haired Priest," but he was a lay priest who did not preside over services. Most of his activities consisted of teaching at the Conservatory of Music attached to the Pietà Charité and his activities as an opera composer and violin virtuoso, and he composed relatively little in the genre of church music, leaving no so-called completed "masses" to accompany all of the liturgical texts of the Mass. The Résor Florissant, led by Agnew, has created a complete "Mass" by combining Vivaldi's other compositions with the texts of the Mass texts without changing the melody (contrafactum), along with the existing completed religious works such as the "Gloria" and others. The soloists and instrumentalists are superb, and the performance is magnificent and supremely soft, full of joy and love of music. King International
