American composer and vocalist Meredith Monk is a versatile artist who has also worked as a director, filmmaker, and choreographer, producing a comprehensive body of work spanning music, theater, and dance since the 1960s. Since his 1981 album "Dolmen Music," he has recorded extensively for ECM Records. To celebrate his 80th birthday this November, a 13-CD boxed set of all the recordings in the ECM series to date will be released. Limited edition. The beautiful box includes a 300-page book with original liner notes, new texts, and interviews. The book includes an essay titled "The World of Meredith Monk," a text by Meredith herself, a foreword by Manfred Eicher, and many photos, including some never before published. Universal Music/IMS
