The first release is Symphonies Nos. 5 and 6. Chief Conductor and Artistic Advisor Jaime Martin says, "The music of Antonin Dvořák remains close to my heart. His music has a sense of nostalgia for any person. His music has been close to my heart ever since I first heard his New World Symphony LP in my father's collection when I was 10 years old. I am honored to begin this Dvořák recording project with the world-class musicians of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra." Dale Balthrop is the concertmaster for No. 5 and Thea Hisambeh is the concertmaster for No. 6. The rich-sounding recordings, which celebrate softness, are also noteworthy, and the cover of the MSO's Dvorak Zixl will feature iconic Melbourne and Victorian landscapes.In this first installment, you can see pictures of "The Twelve Apostles" (a group of multiple stone pillars formed by the erosion of limestone by the sea), located less than 300 km from Melbourne.
