A modern-day Cinderella story, her life and exceptionally beautiful voice have been featured on numerous TV shows and news shows in the U.S. and Europe, including "Good Morning America," and her first album was selected as the best recording at the "International Opera Awards. In the current 2017/18 season, Jende's second album, "Dreams," a collection of operatic arias, will be released, featuring the bel canto technique required for singing 19th century Italian opera. Jände's perfectly skilled singing, in which she sings long, technical arias with refined expression, captures the full charm of the works.The "Madness" from "Lucia di Lammermoor," which she will sing this season in Berlin and the Met, is a superb performance in which Jende gives her all she has. ＜Jende was born in 1985 in a town on the outskirts of South Africa. She was 16 years old when she first heard an opera aria, the "Flower Duet" from the opera "Lakmé" used in a British Airways TV commercial. At that moment, she made up her mind that "I am going to be an opera singer," and she entered the University of South Africa on a scholarship. In 2009, she won first prize in all categories at the International Belvedere Opera and Operetta Competition, the first time in the competition's long history. In 2011, she again won first prize in all categories at the Placido Domingo Opeglia Competition. In 2013, she made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera with "Count Ory" as the understudy of Nino Machaise, where she won international acclaim for her performance with Flores. Sony Music
