Mannix, which has released a best-of album in 2011 and "Generation Terrorist - 20th Anniversary Edition" in 2012 to mark the 20th anniversary of its debut, takes the first step toward the next 20 years with this album! Mannix will take the first step toward the next 20 years with this album! Rumor has it that they are working on two albums at the same time, and this album, one of the two, is a contemplative, introspective, noise-reduced work of great depth. The title track, "Rewind the Film," the set-up single, features twin vocals with Richard Hawley, a singer/songwriter/guitarist formerly with the Longpigs and also with Pulp, on an epic, six-and-a-half-minute-long, cinematic song. The cinematic song showcases Mannix in a way that has never been done before. According to James, "The song that will be the lead track is like a mix between the Rolling Stones circa "Rocks Off" and Las Vegas-era Elvis Presley.And the first single "Show Me the Wonder," which incorporates a horn section, is a superb pop song with a 100% Mannix feel. This year marks the 21st year since their debut, and a new world of Mannix is about to begin!
