Description:

A collection of piano pieces by 20th century Ukrainian composers. Mykola Lysenko (1842-1912) is a composer who is considered the founder of Ukrainian folkloric music. In addition to many piano pieces, she is also known for her Ukrainian-language opera Taras Bouliba. Levko Levutsky (1889-1977) was a leading Ukrainian composer of the Soviet era. Aleksander Zhuk (1907-1995) was a composer, conductor, and music educator based in Halkiu. Miroslav Skoryk (1938-) is an elder statesman of contemporary Ukrainian composers. Anna Sherest studied at the Halkiou Conservatory, then at the Juilliard School in the United States with renowned teacher Jerome Lowenthal, and remains based in New York to this day. Her partner, Dmitri Sherest, is her husband. They were classmates at the Ukrainian Conservatory of Music. Tobu Shoji Co.
