Formed in 1974, George Thorogood & The Destroyers' 1982 live recording in Boston is now available in a deluxe edition with 12 previously unreleased tracks. For Thorogood and his longtime band of Jeff Simon (drums, percussion), Bill Braff (bass), Jim Suller (rhythm guitar), and Buddy Leach (saxophone), power to the rock audience has been their battle cry and creed since their formation in 1974." George recalls, "It wasn't about the number of people in the audience, but more about the impression we were making." I asked myself, 'What was the point of this?' And I knew from the first set that we had something special. They've sold more than 15 million albums, had numerous hits, played more than 8,000 furious shows, broken records on the 50 Dates/50 States tour, landmark performances on Live Aid and SNL, and radio around the world for more than two generations, MTV, and stage mainstays. All the while, they have remained one of the most consistent and consistently passionate founders of blues-based rock in pop culture history. Thorogood received the B.B. King Award from the 2018 Montreal International Jazz Festival.This live set captures one of the high points of the band's career, having just finished their opening tour with The Rolling Stones. The band's strength and focus at this point is evident in every song.
