SASAMI, who toured with a metal band for 2022's Squeeze, releases a new album, Blood On the Silver Screen, on Domino. Classically trained and versatile, she combines her skills as a performer, producer, and composer with her fearless and spectacular onstage persona to create her most accomplished music to date: "SASAMI's Pop Album. Working with producers Jenn Decilveo and Rostam, and with SASAMI writing all the lyrics, the songs on this album nakedly express various aspects of love, sex, power, and self-realization.Eschewing recent pop culture fads, he leans toward Britney Spears' "Femme Fatale," Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," and the pop music of the late 2000s and 2010s, including Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry, and Sia. He was also inspired by the storytelling of contemporary country music, mixing humor and vulnerability. In addition, Prince and Japanese city pop also influenced the creation of this album.
