Description:

Francesco Tristano and others also participate! A solo and duo album by Kai Schumacher, the standard-bearer of German minimalism. The title track, "Transformer," is a piano duo with Francesco Tristano that runs at a comfortable pace and transforms beautifully at the end. Drift" is a duo with Cameroonian-German female drummer Filo Tsongui. Scapes_Spaces" is a duo with German keyboardist Moritz Fassbender on synthesizer, and the other three pieces are solo piano pieces. The other three pieces are solo piano pieces. This is a piano minimalism album with a unique style and virtuoso playing ranging from contemplative and aesthetic to upbeat. Born November 18, 1979 in Baden-Baden, Germany, Schumacher began playing the piano at the age of five and performed Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra at age 15. He studied at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen in the piano class of Prof. Till Engel and graduated in 2009. Since then, he has been active as a pianist, composer, and arranger.
