A nobleman of the Oberpfalz, he served the Elector Ludwig V during his career. Vom Brandt left many songs. Georg Forster, who highly admired him, compiled the first two volumes of his song cycle. Fom Brandt later dedicated the third volume to Forster. In this album, soprano Betty-Ann Pahn sings Fom Brandt's expressive songs. It is also noteworthy that she is accompanied by baritone and percussionist Jeroen Finke, viola da gamba player Juliane Raquet, and lute player Joachim Heldt, all of whom are renowned players.
