As shown in the title track, which sings about CANYON, their home, this is a masterpiece from the early days of the band, with songs that are somewhat brighter than the East Coast darkness of their earlier works. The coloring by flute, saxophone, and self-chorus, which foreshadowed the band's gradual departure from simple narrative and its approach to jazz a few years later, is also evident in the simple yet effective cover illustration, in which colorful colors emerge as the white background is turned up. Including "WOODSTOCK," the well-known theme song for the movie sung by CSNY, "BIG YELLOWTAXI," and "THE CIRCLE GAME," this album is part of the ULTRADISC ONE-STEP (UD1S) series, a new standard from MOBILE FIDELITY.
