Description:
The great Italian violinist Salvatore Accardo, who will turn 80 in 2021, has recorded a compilation album of works by Kreisler and arrangements by Kreisler, playing a wide range of Cremona School violins from the 16th century Andrea Amati to the 18th century "Guarneri del Gesù". Recorded at the Palazzo Cavalcavo in Cremona in 1993, the album features Kreisler's famous "The Joy of Love" and "The Sorrow of Love," as well as superb arrangements of works by Dvořák, Brahms, and others, and even an arranged version of Chopin's mazurkas. The recording includes a wide range of Kreisler's charms. Enjoy the superb tones of these five fine instruments played by Accardo in the ultra-high sound quality for which the Fone label is known.
