Formed in Portland, Oregon, U.S.A. in 1999, the band continued their training with a grueling U.S. tour and single releases while playing with Rapture and Deerhoof. The band released a full-length album "Peril & Panic" in 2003, and disbanded in 2004. Intima's band activities have been so tumultuous that they have been called "PERIL & PANIC. The long-awaited reissue of their only full-length album "PERIL & PANIC" is now available! Listening to it now, Intima could be described as "Black Midi" or "Disco Label" with a touch of "Dirty Three". But at the time of its inception, Intima toured the U.S., confounding listeners and critics alike with its unique sound that could not be described as mash rock, post-punk, or avant-garde." The New Savage's guitar-guitar assault is replaced by a violin, and the tempo is suddenly increased, changing the scenery dramatically, as if foretelling the birth of the Black Midi. It is absolutely important that this ensemble, which appeared in the heyday of post/math rock and blended the difficult, exciting, and insane, be asked again in this world!
