Description:
Francesco Paolo Frontini (1860-1939) was born in Catania, Sicily, and studied at the Palermo Conservatory and the Naples Conservatory. He was an Italian composer who left behind such representative works as Pietro Coppola's funeral mass. Frontini was particularly interested in traditional Italian music, and he left his mark on history by completing the first collection of Sicilian folk songs in Italy. The first volume of 50 songs from the Sicilian Folk Songs was published by Ricordi in 1882, and the second volume, entitled Natale Siciliano, was published by De Marchi in Milan in 1893. Tokyo M-Plus
