Prodigious fortepiano player Brautiham finally recorded Schubert's improvisations! The prodigious fortepiano player Brautiham has started recording Schubert. This album contains his improvisations. The improvisations consist of four pieces each in Op. 90 and Op. 142. Each piece is a masterpiece by Schubert, filled with lyrical beauty and full of individuality. Brautigam, who studied under Rudolf Serkin, specializes in works from the Classical and early Romantic periods, and his performance of Schubert, the pioneer of Romanticism, is highly anticipated. Brautigam has performed and recorded keyboard works by Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven. His Schubert is a masterpiece. Brautigam's natural approach shines through in this performance, and the warm tones of the fortepiano reach the listener's heart. A replica of the Konrad Graf (made in 1819) made by Paul McNulty, a contemporary master craftsman, is used in this performance.Regarding playing and recording with McNulty-made instruments, "McNulty is not only a great researcher of period instruments and creates them anew, but playing the replicas he has made gives me new inspiration in terms of performance interpretation."
